Staffing levels vary depending on which model you choose
Walk into a typical Round Table Pizza franchise on any given evening between 5-8 p.m., and it’s usually humming. Staffers are hustling in the kitchen, families are coming in and staking out a table while the kids run back to the arcade room.
“There’s a lot of energy in the restaurants,” says Gregg Fleury, Vice President of Operations. “Dinnertime is when it all happens, usually from 5 to 8. That’s when we do 65% of our business. Even if the restaurant’s not full of people there’s an energy — people busy in the kitchen, phones ringing. If a lot is going on, I know I’ve come to a popular place.”
Fun culture helps attract employees
People are having fun, and not just the customers. Round Table fosters a culture of fun, and that makes a difference when it comes to hiring and retention.
Staffing needs may vary
Your need for employees will depend on your Round Table footprint. We have various restaurant formats to choose from, ranging in size from 800 to 6,500 square feet, with some relying exclusively on delivery and carry-out and some that do a bigger dine-in business. Staffing needs vary depending on the volume of business you’re doing, but here are some guidelines:
Clubhouse: You will need about 40-45 employees, most of them part-time. This is our largest concept, which runs about 4,200-6,500 square feet
Core concept: Our traditional Round Table restaurant usually varies in size from 2,500-4,000 square feet. You will need about 25-30 employees, most of them part-time.
Take-out/delivery only: This concept is typically a smaller space of 800 to 1,400 square feet that allows for a streamlined operation. You will still need 15 to 20 employees to handle the delivery and carry-out volume.
